Tuning is a complex process and listening skill which consists of several parts. In order to tune your instrument precisely, you will have to have relative pitch skills. These skills will help you listen and extract the reference pitch, and then replicate it on the instrument you want to tune. You will have to listen and compare the two pitches and then adjust your instrument according to the reference pitch.
