Scythebill is a small yet effective desktop application that will help birders to keep track of their birding records and better handle their life lists. The application is open-source and free to use, offering a wide array of options and features, including the ability to flip between IOC and Clements checklists.

Scythebill is easy to understand and supports multiple platforms, allowing you to keep all your data even if you switch from Windows to Linux or Mac OS X. The program's interface is intuitive and simple, allowing you to start using it in just a few minutes after installation.

Scythebill gives you acces to the complete Clements and eBird checklists, including all groups and subspecies. Moreover, support for IOC World Bird List is supported with names and subspecies in 20 different languages.

Scythebill allows you to instantly flip between the taxonomies, eliminating the need for you to choose only one. The application allows you to abbreviate the species names in order to add new entries faster. There are more than 7000 alternate names available.

The program enables you to quickly process hundreds of thousands of records and includes a wide range of checklists, containing almost all of the Globe's countries. You can import data from a wide variety of sources, including BirdBase, eBird, Avisys, BirdLasser, and more. The information can be exported to eBird, as well.

Scythebill offers detailed information about locations and, thanks to its' integrated "geocoding" capabilities, is able to easily find the needed coordinates for you worldwide. You can also enter "spuhs" and hybrids to your bird lists (e.g. Willow/Alder Flycatcher).
