NotePro has a clear, nice user interface that puts almost all the features you will need right on the well-designed button bar. NotePro works with regular text files, and also generates and saves Rich Text Format, Word doc or docx files, Windows Write, Adobe PDF, and HTML documents used by Word and other word-processors. You can have numerous files open at the same time and split files into two parts.

Other features include full control over text appearance. Use any font from your system, control the font size or attributes, and also use text in various colors, including background fills. Onscreen you can rapidly boost or lower text size, add super- or subscript text, edit footers and headers. You can also rapidly generate numbered or bulleted lists, add photos and bookmarks. Like a word processor, the program lets you make custom styles for your text - designate a font, attributes, face, color, alignment, etc. - that allows you to easily use a style to certain text. Very effective for headers, captions, or whole paragraphs of text you need to separate.

NotePro also has an integrated spelling checker, and allows you to add text from actual files. The application also permits you to embed or link to objects or pictures. Other options are customizing the case of text to all lower and upper, calculator, and character map, font preview in the font window so you get a look at what a font looks like, and print preview.

Documents can include Unicode text, such as a mix of Italian, English, Japanese, Chinese, etc.
