Freeraser is a powerful application that will let you permanently delete sensitive data from your hard drive, making it impossible to be recovered by other persons using specialized software. By using this program you can be sure that no one will have access to your important information. The program does this by destroying the deleted data using a complex procedure by overwriting the actual content.
Freeraser uns on three different levels:
- fast destruction: uses only one round filling of arbitrary data
- forced destruction: destroys your data according to the DoD 5220.22M standard (3 rounds of filling)
- ultimate destruction: the data is erased using the Guttman algorithm (35 rounds of filling)
You can use any of these methods to erase your data. The more powerful deletion is performed, the more time it needs for the process to be finalized.
