Win7DSFilterTweaker is a lightweight software utility that will let you configure DirectShow filters on MS Windows 7 operating system. This tool is useful if you want to use third party filters instead of the windows native filters. This can not be done without a few changes to the Windows Registry. Win7DSFilterTweaker lets you tweak your own filters fast and easy, just in a few mouse click. You can also revert the changes at any time. Win7DSFilterTweaker can be used for the Microsoft media players (Windows Media Player and Media Center), which use the new Media Foundation framework from some formats (.m2ts, .mp4, and .mov) instead of DirectShow filters.

This software will make changes that will affect your system only when a media player uses DirectShow. It supports the following file formats: VC-1, WMVA, WMV1/2/3, AAC, H.264, MPEG-4 (DivX / Xvid / MP4V), MPEG-2, MP3, and MP2.

Win7DSFilterTweaker is compatible with the following third party DirectShow filters: DivX H.264 decoder, DivX MPEG-4 decoder, DiAVC H.264 decoder, Purevideo MPEG-2 decoder, NVIDIA MPEG-2 decoder, MONOGRAM AAC decoder, ffdshow, MPCVideoDec, CoreAVC H.264 decoder, Cyberlink H.264 decoder, Cyberlink MPEG-2 decoder, Xvid MPEG-4 decoder, ArcSoft H.264 decoder, ArcSoft MPEG-4 decoder, ArcSoft MPEG-2 decoder, DScaler5 MPEG-2 decoder, Gabest MPEG-2 decoder, Cyberlink VC-1 decoder, ArcSoft VC-1 decoder.

Under 64-bit operating systems, the following filters are supported: CoreAVC H.264 decoder, Xvid MPEG-4 decoder, ffdshow, MPCVideoDec, and Gabest MPEG-2 decoder.

Win7DSFilterTweaker is capable of disabling the Media Foundation framework for the following file formats: .aac, .asf, .avi, .3gp, .3gpp, .mp4, .mp4v, .wav, .mov, .mp3, .wma, .wmv, .m4a, and .m4v.

Win7DSFilterTweaker can be installed on Microsoft Windows 7 only, both 32-bit and 64-bit system architectures.
