VICE is a free and multi-platform utility that allows you to easily emulate Commodore 8-bit machines, such as C128, C64, PET, VIC20, CBM-II, and PLUS4. This tool offers support fro devices that run on Unix, Amiga, Win32, MS-DOS, OS/2, Mac OS, QNX, Acorn RISC OS, Dingoo, GP2X, BeOS, and Syllable OS hosts.
The utility also supports for digital joysticks. You can connect them to a parallel port and use a CatWeasel PCI card to simulate hardware SID. Moreover, the utility is portable, offering you the possibility to take it with you on a removable drive and use it on any machine, without installation.
VICE enables you to overwrite playback, save and load snapshots, record playback history, record audio to a file, and more. In addition, you can configure the maximum speed, activate the auto-refresh rate feature, activate video cache, and more.
