PuTTY is a free and lightweight Telnet and SSH client application designed for MS Windows and Unix. The program also integrates an xterm terminal emulator. This software supports the Rlogin network protocol too.
The SSH, Rlogin and Telnet network protocols helps the users to run remote sessions on a computer, via network or Internet. The program allows you to simply connect to a Microsoft Windows or UNIX computer and remotely work on it as if you are sitting at its console.
You must know that in some countries where encryption is outlawed, the use of PuTTY, PSFTP, PSCP, and Plink might be illegal.
