News Messenger offers support for a vast array of RSS feed formats and Atom 1.0 feeds. The program is able to automatically discover RSS feeds for certain websites just by using Drag&Drop. Support for proxy servers is included as well.
News Messenger utilizes HTTP conditional GET and GZip encoding in order to significantly reduce the used bandwidth when downloading Atom and RSS feeds. Tag clouds for subscribed feeds can be displayed as well. In addition, the program features OPML support and lets you view news thumbnails.
