GitHub Desktop lets you handle the branches in a fast and easy way, allowing you to access them from the interface's left corner. Furthermore, the program offers a view of all your uncommitted changes and enables you to easily modify your projects. All the commits and changes will be displayed in a comparison graph. Commits can be easily browsed on local and remote branches, so you will be able to quickly see what modifications still need to be merged.
