DAR is a command line application which will enable you to perform backup tasks in a fast and efficient manner. The utility allows you to backup entire file systems or individual files, handle hard links, sparse files, Extended Attributes, inodes, Mac OS file forks, and much more. The application is released under the GNU GPL license and is free to use. Several operating systems and platforms are supported.
DAR is based upon the Libdar library and its API. (Application Interface). The utility can be integrated with other applications, as well. The application is light on system resources and is capable of handling large-sized file systems.
