CAMEO is a software suite aimed at planning for and responding to chemical emergencies. The application was developed by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and EPA to help front-line chemical emergency responders and planners. CAMEO can be used to store, access and evaluate information needed for creating emergency plans. Furthermore, the utility is able to support regulatory compliance by assisting users to meet all the chemical inventory reporting requirements of the EPCRA (Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act).
CAMEO comes with an integrated a chemical database and a method to handle the information, a mapping capability, and an air dispersion model.
