CommView is a comprehensive and powerful utility that allows security professionals, network programmers, LAN administrators or home users to monitor and analyze their networks and the traffic flowing through a network segment or computer. This application provides lots of user-friendly features and functions, blending flexibility and performance with an unmatched ease-of-use and functionality.

This tool is capable of capturing every network packet in order to display detailed and important data, including vital statistics, a list of packets and network connections, protocol distribution charts, and many more. By using this tool you will be able to filter, examine, save, import and export captured packets, and analyze more than 100 supported protocols. By providing this data, CommView will help you find network problems and troubleshoot hardware or software.

CommView also integrates a VoIP analyzer for thorough analysis, playback, or recording of H.323 and SIP voice communications. The application requires a 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, standard dial-up adapter, Wireless Ethernet, or a Token Ring network card. CommView also lets you perform remote monitoring tasks by using the optional add-in: CommView Remote Agent. This component will allow CommView to easily capture network traffic on any computer which has the Remote Agent installed, regardless of its physical location.

By using CommView you will be able to perform a multitude of network operations, such as viewing detailed IP connections statistics (ports, addresses, sessions, etc.), rebuild TCP sessions, generate traffic reports, or view data like bandwidth usage, protocols distribution, and network nodes charts and tables.

CommView also lets you browse captured and recorded packets and map them to the program which is sending or receiving them. In addition you can import and export network packets in various formats, including Observer, NetMon, EtherPeek, AiroPeek, Sniffer, text, hex, and Tcpdump.

CommView will always let you know when important events are happening in your network, notifying you whenever high bandwidth utilization, suspicious packets, or unknown addresses are detected. You can also search for hex data or strings in captured packets content.

CommView also lets you create your own plug-ins for decoding any network protocol and capture loopback traffic. By using this software you will be able to export IP addresses to SmartWhois for fast and simple IP lookup. Additionally, CommView lets you easily exchange information with your application over TCP/IP.
